Research and Innovation Partnership Resources

The Promotion and Tenure Innovation and Entrepreneurship (PTIE) initiative, led by Oregon State University (supported by the National Science Foundation), offers a collection of resources that can be used to support universities to recognize the impact of innovation and entrepreneurship (I&E) in faculty promotion, tenure, and advancement processes. As a result of this initiative, the PTIE team has authored several key publications on best practices involving PTIE, data on I&E impact, and national conference proceedings that detail effective strategies for integrating I&E into P&T criteria, as well as other resources. These resources include a detailed workbook for action planning, internal surveys to gauge interest, presentations, timelines, and implementation guidelines based on successful models at OSU. Through providing such tools, the PTIE website equips universities to modernize P&T practices and highlight faculty contributions that drive innovation and societal impact.
