ABSTRACT
The University of Wyoming (UW) recently achieved the Innovation and Economic Prosperity (IEP) designation from the Association of Public Land-grant Universities and R1 Research Status by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. These designations are an indication of the University’s commitment to research excellence and connection to the community.
The newly re-constituted Technology Transfer Office, IMPACT 307 (UW’s incubator), and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation are engaged in bringing use-inspired research principles to the university community through the ART program. The ART program at UW focuses on instituting cultural change through funding Strategic Translational Acceleration Research (STAR) projects, the ART Ambassador program (project-based hands on learning of translational research principles), and the ARTISAN program that builds on current undergraduate research day at UW.
