Community Guidelines
Welcome to ART Network, a collaborative platform hosted by New Jersey Institute of Technology (collectively, “ART Network”), designed to empower members of the scientific community to work together using cutting-edge digital tools. To ensure a safe, respectful, and productive environment, we’ve established the following guidelines for participation.
1. Respectful Behavior
We are committed to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive community. Members are expected to:
- Communicate Respectfully: Engage in discussions with professionalism and courtesy, even when disagreements arise. Harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
- Credit Contributions: Acknowledge the contributions of others and avoid misrepresenting the work of your peers.
- Collaborate with Integrity: Work together in good faith and refrain from disruptive behaviors that hinder collaboration.
2. Intellectual Property Protections
We respect and protect the intellectual property (IP) of all members and require you to do the same. Please adhere to the following:
- Protect Your Work: Use watermarks or document locks when necessary and consider withholding sensitive data unless agreements are in place.
- Honor the Work of Others: Do not copy, paste, screenshot, or otherwise share content from the site without the explicit permission of the creator.
- Cite Appropriately: Attribute shared ideas, data, or resources to their rightful owner when using them in your work.
3. Data Security and Privacy
To maintain the security and confidentiality of information shared on this platform:
- Do Not Share Login Credentials: Your account is for your use only. Sharing passwords or access credentials is strictly prohibited.
- Avoid External Sharing: Do not share, screenshot, or distribute any information, discussions, or resources posted on the site without proper authorization.
- Report Security Concerns: Notify administrators immediately if you suspect a breach or unauthorized use of your account.
4. Content Sharing and Usage
- Be Mindful of Sharing Limits: Share only what you are authorized to disclose and verify that your content does not violate the rights or confidentiality agreements of your organization or collaborators.
- Seek Permissions When Necessary: Obtain explicit consent before sharing or using others’ content for presentations, publications, or external discussions.
- Avoid Downloading Without Consent: Do not download or export data or resources without permission from the content owner.
5. Appropriate Use of Tools
- Use Collaboration Tools Responsibly: Leverage the platform’s tools for their intended purposes, ensuring your actions support the group’s collaborative goals.
- Keep Discussions Relevant: Focus conversations and activities on professional and scientific topics pertinent to the community’s objectives.
- Refrain from Commercial Activities: The platform is not to be used for personal business promotions, advertisements, or unrelated financial solicitations.
6. Reporting and Enforcement
If you observe violations of these guidelines or suspect misuse, report them to the platform administrators. Actions taken for violations may include warnings, account suspension, or permanent removal from the platform.
