Commercializing Academic Research – Opportunities and Resources for Faculty and Trainees

This half-day hybrid seminar provides faculty and trainees with a comprehensive overview of the key steps involved in translating academic research discoveries from the laboratory into commercial products. The event features informational sessions, a panel discussion, and a complimentary lunch for the first 50 attendees, followed by a networking reception.

The seminar is designed for:

  1. Faculty members with limited or no experience in biomedical entrepreneurship,
  2. Faculty members interested in launching a startup and securing funding for commercialization, and
  3. Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows exploring career opportunities in translational research and commercialization.

Seminar sessions will provide an overview of MU’s robust infrastructure and resources designed to support the commercialization of scientific discoveries, how to launch a startup while advancing an academic career, securing funding, and exploring biomedical entrepreneurship career opportunities.

Attendees will gain insights into mentorship, educational programs, and financial resources while learning from experts in the field!
